Fusion Festival program shaping up to be fun!

Fusion Festival Program Liz and Tracey from Cooroy LibraryCooroy’s annual Fusion Festival program is coming together and this Saturday 7th May is looking to be a day packed with fun! Spanning from the Cooroy Mill Site to the CWA Hall this festival has so much to offer!

A few of the confirmed activities in the Cooroy Library are already getting attendees excited with something for everyone in the family.

“Cooroy Fusion Festival is a fantastic day for the town and we are proud to be a part of it. We get thousands of people through the doors during the day and every single one of them has a smile on their face,” said Liz Bleechmore, Cooroy Library Programs Officer.

A popular addition to this year’s fusion festival program is the Ozobot Coding workshops where 7 to 10 year olds can learn fun and simple coding using a miniature robot, the Ozobot. The Noosa Library Service’s NAO Robot, Dewey will also be a star of the day with a beginner session that will take you through the basics of programming a robot using using Choreographe software.

The all-day Lego Lounge is sure to be a big hit with tables of Lego to put your creative building skills to the test. Take up the Lego Challenge to go in the draw for a prize or just hang out and create!

There will be a First 5 Forever Story Play area which will hold a range of creative resources for children and parents to discover new ways to encourage early literacy.

Cooroy Fusion is all about putting a spotlight on our local talent and the Fusion Author Fair in the Library does just that by offering a chance to discover the talented wordsmiths that live in our local area and browse their work. Books will be for sale, with authors there to sign your copy! Musicians from Music on Mondays will also be in attendance, a popular program that showcases emerging local musicians such as Confusion Says and others. There will also be Living Yoga and Tai Chi Demonstrations.

You’ll want to capture all the fun to remember in years to come by jumping into the ‘Pop-Up’ Instagram photo booth with your friends, try on the props and post your picture onto Instagram. Tag #NoosaLibraryService for your chance to win a prize.

And that is just the tip of the iceberg with lots of other activities throughout the entire precinct still to be announced in coming months! For more information, visit www.cooroyfusionfestival.com.au or find them of Facebook!
