The 2017 Festival is being held on Saturday 13th May at the Lower Mill Site in Cooroy.
The Cooroy Community Branch Bendigo Bank Entertainment Stage is the hub of the activities at the lower mill site between 9.30am and 3pm:
9.30 AM – MUSICAL SHOWCASE
On stage, under the baton of Brad Smith, we have performances by;
- Noosa District High School Concert Band
- Sunshine Hinterland Orchestra for Children
- St Theresa’s Concert Band
- St Theresa’s Stage Band
10.30 AM – THE CHERRY RIPES
Two fun loving, grey haired sisters from Kandanga who take themselves seriously as musicians whilst others think of them as a mischievous comedy duo who are guaranteed to liven up any event!
10.45 AM – GECKOES WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE
Bumpy, Jasper, Prickles, Pancake, Amber, Biff, Minty and Chatterbox are the names of just a few of the critters who will be making an up close and personal appearance at this year’s festival. So if you want to find out who is who then take a seat and prepare to be introduced!
After the performance, some of our visitors will be going walkabout for a photo opportunity
11.30 AM – WELCOME TO COUNTRY
Representing the traditional owners of the land, Brent Miller will share stories and language of the Gubbi Gubbi people and mimic the sounds of their surroundings
12.00 NOON – IAN HAWKINS
Piano player and vocalist covering many different genres. Songs you haven’t heard for years… Songs you wished you hadn’t heard for years and songs you’ve never even heard of before. Listen to some all time classics with a twist of humour.
12.20 PM – SAMBAZZY
Sambazzy is a local Sunshine Coast group made up of drummers, percussionists and Samba dancers in spectacular carnival costumes, entertaining with a mixture of lively contagious Brazilian and Caribbean calypso rhythms
12.45 PM – CLAPTOMANIACS
Continuing where they closed Fusion 2016, these local musos will ramp up the energy of the festival with some old time rock and roll. The Claptomaniacs will be performing their own renditions of classics by Eric Clapton, Queen and Joe Cocker and other rock legends from the 60s and 70s.
2.00 PM – SAMBAZZY
Treating us with an encore performance
2.15 PM – ANNIE J AND FUSION
What better way to close Fusion 2017 than with the local Sunshine Coast band, Fusion? Mixing a blues guitarist, a reggae drummer, a funk bass player and a classically trained keys/sax player, playing a blend of funk, soul, reggae, hip-hop and jazz, there are no prizes for guessing why they chose the name Fusion!
There’s lots going on at Cooroy Library as well, all library events are free and no booking is required, just rock up and join in!

Code your heart out! Jump into the digital age with our Robotics Club. Get your hands on the latest and greatest in coding and robotics and explore a new world. Drop in or come to the demonstrations at 10am and 11 am. All ages and levels welcome.
10.00AM – Kid’s Area – MUSIC 2 GROW – PLAYDATE
An interactive music and movement session – singing, dancing and activities to get your feet stomping and your hearts singing! Perfect for families with children aged 0–5 years.
11.00AM – Library Community Lounge – TAI CHI DEMONSTRATION
With Jenny Morris and the Cooroy Group. Enjoy the peace of Tai Chi as you watch the group move with grace.
11.45AM – Kid’s Area – BREAKDANCE & HIP HOP WORKSHOP
Join Kirsty and Kester for their beginner’s breakdance & hip hop workshop, suitable for primary aged kids. Challenge yourself with tricks like the coffee grinder and moonwalk and learn an old school style hip hop routine that you can practice at home. Safe, fun and interactive.
